Another re-do!

Morning Everyone!

This is another re-do Ive been working on. Ive got SO many projects going on, seriously, sewing, printing, cutting, painting, staining, stuffing, sanding, everyday duties and STILL haven't finished the trim work in Kins bedroom yet! Ive been making a list every morning of things I want to finish THAT day, so far its been working out without getting to overwhelmed!

I picked up this set of bowls for $4 during my last GW trip. I LOVE how they turned out. Now I just need to find a bowl rack to display them, right now I have nothing. So they may end up getting packed away until I can find something.

Before

After

Should I stain them or leave as is?

A re-do and a microwave cover!

First off, I just wanted to send a thank you to CHERYL for the awesome picture frame that I won during her birthday giveaway week. I havent been able to get a picture because Kindle grabbed it out of my hands no sooner than I had it opened from its pretty black and white wrapping:)

Second, more thank yous about finding the masonry nails. I had NO clue thats what they were called. I have some patterns that call for them so I thought, Ill check ebay! Thank you to all who commented on where to find them. I picked up a few boxes yesterday of 2 different sizes and have them rusting as we speak!

Now, here is ONE of my re-dos. I got this from GW last week for $2.99.

Psssssssst: I had a heck of a time trying to get the right light for my pics this morning to capture the true color of the piece. I ended up taking 100 pictures of my micro cover in all!
I have a bunch more to post but Im having a heck of a time finding them a home in order to take "pretty pics". Ill work on that this week some!!

And finally this...................

My microwave cover built by my brother Nick!!! I painted and stained it and have been playing around with a home for it. I didnt realize just how big it is until I set it on my counter. I dont have much counter space in my kitchen so for NOW, this is where it will stay:)

Ive had a few ask to see pictures of the inside, I hope this isnt too dark.
If it is, let me know! I wanted pics without the flash because the flash on my camera is SO bright it brightens out the true colors.

Just wondering if anyone in blogland sells the square head 2" nails.

I know I can get them on ebay but wanted to check "local" first!

Thanks

Weekend Fun, GW Finds and some pics

Hi Guys!

What beautiful weather we're having eh? It won't last long here, for now!

Sunday we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese and they had SOOOO much fun!

Saturday I hit 3 GW stores and didnt find all that much. 2 wooden candle sticks, a pewter candle stick, a few shelves and a teeny tiny cast iron pan that I am using as a candle pan. I did take pics of my finds but my "work/craft" table in the basement is so cluttered you wouldnt beable to tell what you were looking at. So I wont bother posting them. Ill post the re-do pics instead!

Last night we took a ride down to the lake so I could get some shots of the lighthouse and the sunset. It was SO COLD down there, I had to sit in the car and couldnt get the pics I really wanted. It HAD TO BE 30 deg cooler down there than it was at my house which is about 5 miles away. Oooooh baby, that lake breeze is brutal in the winter!!

Well thats about it for me, outta time! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Wool vs Mohair?

Just need a lil advice here. Im hoping someone out here can help:)

What is the difference between wool and mohair?

There is a farm not too far from me that is selling wool and mohair for around $8 per POUND, uncleaned! Does this sound good? Whats involved in washing?

Is mohair better or wool?

Haha....20 questions! Just want to be sure before I make the purchase.

Here is her website - www . windameer . com

This is a short post as Ive ben fixing my OS since 11PM last night. We somehow got ANOTHER spyware and it locked me up. I spent close to 5 hours in a few tech chats trying to fix the problem and it wouldnt let me.
BEWARE of a prog called SysProtector. It will attach a little yellow bar to the top of your browser under your tool bar. When it 1st happens you can still surf which would hopefully give you enough time to remove it by going to bleepingcomputer.com. If not - look out!

I had to do a complete restore this morning. Lost ALL of my pics, graphics, patterns that I didnt back up!

Im usually really good at being able to find and fix all kinds of ad/spyware and virus' malicious or not but this one gave me a REAL hard time! And I wasnt about to pay someone to do it when I am perfectly capable of doing it myself!!

Ive got ALOT of pics to post so stay tuned................

Hmmm, blogger would not let me type in her website.....weird!???

It really IS a Small World!!

I posted last week about my new blog friend Rebecca from Country Hill Primitives. I "met" her through Craigslist. She had posted one of her dolls for sale and I emailed her to let her know that her work is awesome! We emailed back and forth a bunch of times and she sent me her Myspace link. At that time I had just viewed her handmade pics. A few days passed and I decided to "snoop" a bit more. Not really snoop but you know what I mean eh!!! I was looking through her Myspace page and her pictures and recgonized her son Tim, Timmy as Ive always known him.

I almost fell out of my chair! HONESTLY!!!!

Tim or Timmy was my brothers best friend growing up, I used to BABYSIT him! HA!
When I was younger I always thought Becky was an AWESOME mom and loved her to pieces.

When I put 2 and 2 together and figured out Rebecca was Becky (Tims mom) I about died! I havent seen or talked to her in YEARS! The LAST time I talked to her was when my parents lived in Vegas back in 1998.

What a Small World eh?

I think it is SO COOL that she is into prims and is an awesome artist and I "found" her again!

She is moving back to her hometown, which is also MY hometown (about 40 miles from me) so I cant wait to get together with her:)

Just wanted to share my lil piece of it really IS a Small World!!

I cant believe its March already! Where does the time go?
Don't forget to Spring Ahead Saturday night:) I'm so excited for longer days. My day lilies are starting to peek out from the frozen ground. It wont be long now!!

Jason surprised me last night with this guy.

His name is Cha Cha! Hes a Canary and his song is beautiful! Have you ever heard a Canary sing? OMGOSH! Hes been serenading me ALL morning long. I just LOVE him! I lost my RF Canary a few months ago to a tragic feline accident and was devastated. I missed him so much so you can imagine my surprise when Jason walked in with a teeny box. I knew RIGHT away what was in there:)

If you haven't had the chance to experience the song of a Canary, please do!

Well this post took me about 20 mins. Took forever to upload my pics! That's never happened to me before!! SO that's about it for me. Still working on a bedroom makeover in between crafting.

~~UPDATED~~

If you have my selling blog linked to your blog I need a HUGE favor!
Im so so sorry and such a dork! I just ordered business cards and realized I left out an "I" in primitives when I created my selling blog. So I had to fix my blog address to reflect the changes. If you have me linked I just need you to stick a teeny tiny "I" after the m. Thanks much!

Looooky What I Got:)

OMG, I am so excited! I could barely sleep last night!
Ive been wanting this little beauty for sometime now. Ive done ALOT of research on different brands, different features and different prices and chose a Canon Rebel XS.

Meet my baby, ha!

The most important thing for me when choosing a DSLR was how it felt when I was holding it and how heavy it was. The Canon seemed to be the most comfortable in my hand.

It was a big price tag but well worth it because I got 2 lenses, 2 batteries and a camera bag.

Here are 2 pics I took last night, one with my Kodak P&S -

And the same taken with my Canon -

I still have ALOT to learn when it comes to settings and shutter speeds, I'm hoping it will all come to me!

Jas was playing around with water and these are some shots he got -

If you're thinking of a DSLR I definitely recommend the Canon Rebel SX!!

Ive got a bedroom makeover to show in a few days. As soon as we're finished:)
