*NEW* Fall Prims

Justa real quick post to show what Ive been working on!

I was excepted to sell at Canal Country Artisans, in Medina NY and we take over the booth tomorrow. It was a juror process which I sweated bullets waiting to hear if I was excepted or not for 9 days! OMG - Im SO nervous!!! This is a really BIG primitive shop, ALOT of traffic in there! Im worried my prims arent good enough! I have "caftersnervousnessbutterfliesinmytummy" syndrome!

In any event, heres a few new things Ive got ready to go...

This is my very first round head with stitched on eyelids and painted eyes!
I think I did a pretty good job:)

Patterns courtesy, moonchilds primitives, blue moon beginnings and tennessee ridge primitives!

And this guy is my own pattern that I made up! He is HUGE!

Ive got a ton more in the works, just need to find a 48 hour day!

Wish me luck:)

Swap Goodies and some makeovers

Wow, cant believe its been over a week since I last posted!

Ive been busy sewing every so often, I got so burnt out back in May that I just have no drive to make anything. I do have a bunch of dolls and ornies cut out waiting on me and I finished up 2 fallish dolls today.

First let me show ya what Beth sent me! What a SWEETIE she is......
Her and I had a swap and this is what she sent! I just LOVE her room sprays, the scent actually lasts a long time and when I spray on my couch and throws you can smell the wonderful goodness for days! Kindle grabbed the bottle of monkey farts from me right quick but what an awesome scent!

Thanks so much Beth, I love all of my goodies, we are SO doing this again:)

Ive also been trying to complete a million painting re-dos. You would not believe the amount of wooden things I have piled up in the garage, some half painted, some painted waiting on briwax and some just waiting for something.....

Remember this shelf and little pipe box thingy (sorry, not sure of the name)

Here are the afters...

Remember this tool carrier?

Here is the after...

And a few dolls Ive finished up....

My very first round head doll, took me a few times to get it right:)

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer? I SO can NOT wait for fall, although our weather is VERY fall like with temps not reaching much higher than 75 on a daily basis, no complaints here really unless its too chilly to go outside, then Ima complain'n!!

Truffle Cake Recipe

3 cups semisweet choc chips
2 sticks unsalted butter
6 large eggs, room temp

Heat oven to 425. Coat pan with nonstick spray and line bottom with wax paper, spray paper. Have a large roaster ready.

Melt chips and butter together in med saucepan; stir until well blended.

Beat eggs in a large bowl with mixer until triple in size and soft peaks form. Fold in chocolate mixture until blended. Pour into pan.

Place large roaster in oven; place cake pan inside. Pour boiling water into roaster to come halfway up sides of cake pan.

Cover cake pan loosely with foil; bake 40 mins. Cake will look soft but will set when cool.

Cool cake on a wire rack. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours, or until firm. Invert onto serving dish, shake down sharply to release cake.

I made 4 layers (2 actual cakes(batches)) and used strawberry jam in between, raspberry is better because its not as sweet.

Ganache

3/4 cup heavy whipping cream.
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

Bring cream to a boil and pour over chips, stir until glossy.

I let the ganache cool for 10-15 mins before I spoon over cake.

Birthday Goods

Wow, the weekend flew by, didnt it?

Jas is back to work this morning and everyone is still sleeping so its nice n quiet right now!

It was a great weekend all around, weather turned around and the sun came out. I think this was the 1st 4th of July that hasnt rained in a long long time. I remember as a kid it would rain every year and Ide get so mad!

Now.....for some goodies!

Friday night Jas suprised me and took me to see Our Lady Peace! OMG - it was just awesome! One of my favorite bands ever. The show was part of our Molson Canal Concert Series so it was a free show. He even got a close parking spot so I didnt have to walk to far! Its a tiny outdoor venue and there had to be at least 35,000 people there! It was killer! I only lasted about 2 1/2 hrs standing so we ended up missing 3 songs, but that was ok!

It was super hard to get any good pictures because I am SO short. I had to hold my cam over my head and just aim while getting bounced around!

This was their opener, Inward Eye

Have I lost ya yet? Keeeeeeeep reading, I got more!!

Saturday we hit a few yard sales and I ended up finding some great things!

The toolbox and breadbox already have a base coat of black! Not sure on the top coat color yet!

My cake was the topper to the weekend! Chocolate HEAVEN, I swear!
Its called a truffle cake, flourless chocolate cake.

Its just eggs, chocolate and butter. There are 4 cakes with strawberry jam between the layers and a ganache frosting! My mom used to make this for me for my birthday so I carry the tradition myself.

And that was my birthday weekend!

I hope you all had a great Holiday, Ill be back later this week with a few re-dos!

Touches of Americana

2 posts in one day!??? WOW!
Im lucky if I can post once a week lately!

My house is somewhat clean so I figured Ide quick snap a few shots of my americana decor! Up until last weekend my diningroon looked like a shop with a gazillion holes in the wall holding all of my handmades. I finally took a few hours and packed everything up and got to my "spring" cleaning that I had neglected for months so............I actually dont have all that much decorated! I put a few things out as I was seriously sick of looking at it all hanging in the diningroom.

Living room couch

Fillers

This next 2 are in my bathroom, I think I need to paint the cupboard dont you?

A Chestnut Junction pattern doll

A Tennessee Ridge Primitives Pattern Greeter hung in my kitchen so its the 1st thing you see when you walk in the kitchen door.

Shelf above my kitchen sink (pay no attention to my broken window that I broke while trying to get my hubs attention one day)

Display next to my new cupboard

And a few more things I made

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

Rainy Summer Days....what to do?

Have fun with chalk of course!

When is the last time you drew a chalk picture?

Its a bit relaxing and alot of fun watching the creativity of kids

Bella started soccer Tues night, what a fun thing!
They had about 15 mins of practice and went right into their first game. We won 2-0, but only because there is one kid on her team who plays like an adult. Most of the kids had no clue what was going on nor what do do! She has her 2nd game tonite and boy do I hope this rain lets up. I hate hate hate sitting in the rain!

I want to wish everyone a Very Happy & Safe 4th Of July as I wont get back til Sunday to post the winner of my giveaway. There are only 3 days left so make sure ya enter:) Its gonna be a good one........................
