Fantastic Find!

Happy Saturday to ya’s!

What a fantastic fall day eh?

This morning I had to make a run to the PO to ship off some packages and on the way home Jas was telling me about an Amish shop in the area that sells fabric and other items at great prices. So, of course we came home so I could throw a pair of jeans on because I still had my jammy pants on.

The little store is only about 15 mins from my house and I had no idea it was there. She had a HUGE selection of fabrics, I was in heaven. SUPER great prices, $2.05 -$3.75 yd on most of them. I don't think any were priced more than $3.75. I got a few yards  of a candy cane print for Christmas dolls. She carried a TON of pastel prints which aren't my thing but said she will switch it out within the next few weeks to more fall/winter colors.

After that we stopped at an Amish bakery where I got my apple butter AND where Jason found 2 of the largest cheese boxes I have ever seen! They were only $3 ea and I'm wondering if I should paint and distress them and put in my booth for sale OR keep for myself.

What would you do with them?

So, whatcha think?

They grow up so fast!

Bella 2st day of prek

Here she is last year on the 1st day of prek.

Here she is this yr on the 1st day of Kindergarten.

Bella - 1st day of kindergarten

They grow SO fast? Don’t they?

Her looks have changed so much since then. She now has a great “grown up” haircut, which she complains about more so because we have to “DO” her hair every morning, haha!!

Gosh, I can’t believe Fall is really here! It doesn’t seem it with the weather we’ve been having but I am glad. When I think back on the summer and how quickly it went. I didn’t do too much with my flower gardens, actually the weeds have taken over – YUK! Its going to be a job in the Spring to get them looking good!!! I spent most of the summer in the house sewing or crafting of some sort!

Our booth is doing VERY well!  I am actually overwhelmed with how fast my items are selling. Every Saturday I go in to take new items and check stock and every Saturday its pretty much bare!! It has kept me REALLY  busy the last 2 months.

Dec 2nd is our Open House, so if anyone from NY is reading this make sure you stop in. I started on Christmas prims last week, slowly!  My ooomph has up and left me somewhere along the way!!!!

I have a few pictures of it decorated for Fall but they day I went in to take pictures most of Sonya’s things had sold so it looks a little bare on her side where she displays her furniture pieces.

Bittersweet & a new blogger!

Happy Tuesday....

Feels like Monday doesn't it?

We had a busy weekend, seems the running never stopped.

Early Sat morning my SIL, hubby and I took the 60 minute drive to gather bittersweet.
We hit it JUST RIGHT! If we had waited another week the berries would have been open!

Ive known about this spot for about 12 years but didn't realize just how much bittersweet was actually here. It grows along side a busy highway, about a mile stretch on both sides of the rd. We packed our car and Sonya's van FULL of it!

It was a HUGE job de-leafing and I'm still not finished. Ive got a bunch of garlands made up to take to the booth and whats left Ill decorate with around here.

This picture really doesn't show just how big this pile it, it took me about 6 hours total to de-leaf it all!!

That was ALOT of work!

On the way home we stopped at a few yard sales and got some treasure which I will hopefully post later in the week.

We also stopped at our booth and it was wiped out! I cant believe it! There was only a few of my fall things left! I have a ton of sewing to do this week so I can stock it back up and Ive got 2 orders that need to be finished and get shipped out Sat. So if you dont hear from me for a while thats why:)

Back to school today!!!!! YAY!
Bella starts kindergarten so she will be gone from 8:30-4:30 and it will be just Dom and I. Kin will go to high school for half of the day and then to Boces for Cos for the last part of the day!

My brother Nick and SIL Sonya started a blog selling their primitive furniture and smalls. Please stop by when you have a chance and welcome them to blogland. They do WONDERFUL primitive work and are just getting started but their blog will be up and running in no time.

Fall/Halloween Pillow Tucks

Thank you ALL for your comments, advice and prayers on yesterdays post!

Jason got them ALL!!!! But the ceiling needs major repair now, and its the original ceiling that was put in when the house was built 36 yrs ago. There is no way were going to be able to find it so I don't know what were going to do!!!!

I'm afraid its going to cave in because of the weight of the dead bees and hive!
I'm praying it doesn't, I really don't need that mess!

Anyhow I got busy today and made a few large witch hat sitters that were ordered and snuck in 8 fall/halloween pillow tucks.

They are cinnamon scented buckwheat filled (larger than your average tuck and smaller than a throw pillow) and smell SO GOOD!

There are currently 8 available through my Facebook and here until Saturday morning 9/5. If they don't sell I will take them to my booth. Send me an email if you're interested - jenn_martino@yahoo.com

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Bees - 100's of them!

I mean HUNDREDS!! THOUSANDS!!!

Domonic went to get dressed and came out screaming that there was a wasp in there.

He was right! They have somehow made a hole in the ceiling and there are literally hundreds flying around their bedroom. Kin went in and took the screen out in hopes they would fly out. I am severly allergic! 3 years ago I ended up in the ambulance because one stung me on my elbow. I blew up, had hives and my throat closed up.

I am out of epi's so I cant chance going in there.

My dad is on his way over with some bee spray hopefully, I really hate to see how big their nest is in the attic. That is something Jason might have to take care of when he gets home from work tonite, which isnt until 6:30.

So ya see why we had to call on my dad who lives 45 mins away!

I was able to snap a few pics from a pretty safe distance but I was shaking so the quality could be better. But I wasnt about to push it for a few pictures!!

Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers!

Update - The hole started as a tiny pencil tip type hole and is now the size of a small dessert plate. Jason got home about 40 mins ago and went up to spray! The hive was about 4 feet long and 3 feet wide!!!!

He got the majority of the hive split up and bees killed with a couple bottles of spray and set off to foggers so Im hoping that takes care of them! Ill have him get more spray if I see more tomorrow!
