Paypal Security Center - Update Account Info?

Just a heads up, if you have a Paypal account and recieve an email from Paypal Security Center asking you to update your account info within the next 2 days or your account will be close DONT DO IT! Its a spoof email that asks for you bank info AND pin number if you use a credit card!

I got this email yesterday and thought it was the real thing, updated ALL my info and noticed the address was NOT a Paypal address. Luckily I was able to cancel my card this morning with no charges and report them to Paypal. OMG, can you imagine someone charging on my card? Ide really be in the shitter then!!

This is the address to look for, the phishing site!
www.aicstorino.it/icons/management

My virus protection did not pick it up at first, must have been a new site yesterday and Im betting they got ALOT people!

Please take precaution when viewing emails such as these and remember Paypal will never ask you to update your account! DUH @ me!!!

I would like to thank you ALL who left such warm and thoughtful comments on my last post! I was pretty depressed yesterday but things are looking up! I was SO overwhelmed by all of the responses that I was crying while reading them this morning!

We did take out a small loan for a newER car, ha! Its a 2000 Cavalier - UGH, Im not too happy about that because thats the kind of car I was driving when I was in my accident. Ill overcome my fear of this car hopefully! I am happy that we dont have to worry anymore and the loan is pretty small so we should have it paid off in no time!

Thanks for bringing my spirits up:)

I have gotten those emails too. No reliable site asks for that kind of info so I report them.

I hope you have happy driving with your new car!

Oh I know, I have had these over the years...frustrating....but I never do the information. I think if I didn't contact them then they don't need to know. I then send the e-mail off to Paypal so they can verify the spoof.
Aren't there just so many of these crappy people out there trying to get our information....Wish someone would do these kinds of things to them.

I can't stand crappy people like that. Grow up and get a job, like the rest of us!!! I am so glad you caught it! I had someone hack into my Ebay account last Christmas. They bought all kinds of electronics. Ebay was great, and fixed it, but it still didn't take away the "violated" feeling I had.

Hey Jenn!
I had that happen to me too a few years ago when I wasn't in the best frame of mind.
I did the exact thing you did...cancel my account. I was lucky that this account was just set up for when we sold on ebay, so it wasn't our regular account.
Don't beat yourself up over it. Like Carolyn said..if you weren't so stressed right now you would have caught it.
So happy about your new car!
I love your header too!
