Bittersweet & a new blogger!

Happy Tuesday....

Feels like Monday doesn't it?

We had a busy weekend, seems the running never stopped.

Early Sat morning my SIL, hubby and I took the 60 minute drive to gather bittersweet.
We hit it JUST RIGHT! If we had waited another week the berries would have been open!

Ive known about this spot for about 12 years but didn't realize just how much bittersweet was actually here. It grows along side a busy highway, about a mile stretch on both sides of the rd. We packed our car and Sonya's van FULL of it!

It was a HUGE job de-leafing and I'm still not finished. Ive got a bunch of garlands made up to take to the booth and whats left Ill decorate with around here.

This picture really doesn't show just how big this pile it, it took me about 6 hours total to de-leaf it all!!

That was ALOT of work!

On the way home we stopped at a few yard sales and got some treasure which I will hopefully post later in the week.

We also stopped at our booth and it was wiped out! I cant believe it! There was only a few of my fall things left! I have a ton of sewing to do this week so I can stock it back up and Ive got 2 orders that need to be finished and get shipped out Sat. So if you dont hear from me for a while thats why:)

Back to school today!!!!! YAY!
Bella starts kindergarten so she will be gone from 8:30-4:30 and it will be just Dom and I. Kin will go to high school for half of the day and then to Boces for Cos for the last part of the day!

My brother Nick and SIL Sonya started a blog selling their primitive furniture and smalls. Please stop by when you have a chance and welcome them to blogland. They do WONDERFUL primitive work and are just getting started but their blog will be up and running in no time.

Jenn, how wonderful that your booth is doing so well! I told you so! LOL!

Wish I had some bittersweet! How long will it last? I can't imagine deleafing all of that! I'm sure it takes a long time and is ahrd work.

Dom looks so grown up in that pic! It's amazing how fast our babies have grown!

Have a great week, girl!

That little stinker just gets cuter every time I see him! Love those curls!
My bittersweet isn't doing anything this year, and they said it would. I'm so bummed! I was really looking forward to decorating with it.
I'm not surprised your booth is doing so well. Your stuff is terrific!

Hi, I have been a regular reader of your blog for quite a while now and wanted to tell you how much I enjoy it. While reading about your bittersweet I wondered where you live that you find it growing wild. So, I noticed you live in Medina. I live about 40 minutes south of Buffalo out in the sticks:) I have some bittersweet in my garden that I planted about 3 years ago. It is growing like crazy, but I only have a few berries. Can you share with me how do you find it growing wild? Thanks so much, Sara

Hi Jenn,

I jsut got some of my bittersweet today the berries are still greenish - still too early here! When I made my tutorials last year, I had gotten too early too. are your pods yellow? That's how I like it.

I am off to check the new blog!

Congrats on the success you are having. I absolutely love the prim doll I got from you. I am sure everyone else sees the same talented artisan I do!
We are going to have get out on the gravel tomorrow and look for some bittersweet and pampas grass.
Last year I waited too long and had to 'buy' some from a farmer's market! I want it flexible this time!
