Bittersweet & a new blogger!

Happy Tuesday....

Feels like Monday doesn't it?

We had a busy weekend, seems the running never stopped.

Early Sat morning my SIL, hubby and I took the 60 minute drive to gather bittersweet.
We hit it JUST RIGHT! If we had waited another week the berries would have been open!

Ive known about this spot for about 12 years but didn't realize just how much bittersweet was actually here. It grows along side a busy highway, about a mile stretch on both sides of the rd. We packed our car and Sonya's van FULL of it!

It was a HUGE job de-leafing and I'm still not finished. Ive got a bunch of garlands made up to take to the booth and whats left Ill decorate with around here.

This picture really doesn't show just how big this pile it, it took me about 6 hours total to de-leaf it all!!

That was ALOT of work!

On the way home we stopped at a few yard sales and got some treasure which I will hopefully post later in the week.

We also stopped at our booth and it was wiped out! I cant believe it! There was only a few of my fall things left! I have a ton of sewing to do this week so I can stock it back up and Ive got 2 orders that need to be finished and get shipped out Sat. So if you dont hear from me for a while thats why:)

Back to school today!!!!! YAY!
Bella starts kindergarten so she will be gone from 8:30-4:30 and it will be just Dom and I. Kin will go to high school for half of the day and then to Boces for Cos for the last part of the day!

My brother Nick and SIL Sonya started a blog selling their primitive furniture and smalls. Please stop by when you have a chance and welcome them to blogland. They do WONDERFUL primitive work and are just getting started but their blog will be up and running in no time.

LOTS of Show n Tells.........Make sure ya got time!

Hey Peeps!!!

I got lots to show n tell.......

Ya ready for this? Got a beverage and a snack?

Ok

First......I finally got some pics of my booth!!!

We still have to put up a wall of some sort on the left side!

Ive actually sold quite a bit in a weeks time, actually 5 days:) because they are closed on Sun and Mon!

I received this WONDERFUL email on Saturday! Imagine my suprise when I opened my email to read this!

"Hi there.....I am Susannah......maybe you have seen me commenting on some of the blogs. I do not have a blog. I wish I did ..but maybe someday.

The reason why I am writing this is because I found your blog and fell in love with the witch holding the pumpkin in your header. As I began to read ...I realized that you just started a booth in Medina. When I read - Medina - I ran to tell my husband that we just had to go there. (We live in Lima, south of Rochester and Henrietta.) Well, today was the day! Yes, I did buy the witch and the pumpkin. I am so very happy. I could not stop there so... I bought the wonderful crow with the sunflowers, too. BTW, There was another lady there that really wanted a witch and a pumpkin. The gal at the desk said she was going to call you for her.

Anyways, thank you for making the witch, little pumpkin and the crow with the sunflowers! I am so pleased! Your work is very prim and I love that. There were so many of your things that I wanted. You are a very talented person. Oh, and I loved your booth!

I think I shall have to go back to Medina soon.....LOL!

Sincerely,
Susannah"

OMG - How AWESOME is that???

Im STILL floored!!!

Janene of Primitive Lifestyle and I did a swap and she sent me the most wonderful box of goodies! Look at ALL of this........

LOOK at the bowls and ragballs.....

I thought the ragballs were my favorite but upon further inspection I gotta tell ya, these bowls are SO AWESOME!

See, Ive been meaning to get pics of my goodies for days now, when my package came I put it in my room so my rats (kids) wouldnt get into it, the weekend flew by, and on Sunday my livingroom got ripped apart in a spare of the minute wild hair decision to paint the livingroom so everything in the livingroom got put in my bedroom and i couldnt get to my box of goodies!!!! Whew!

So today I was able to finally get some pics and get them on here to share!

Thank you Janene - I am blowm away and love everything. I think you will do wonderful if you decide to sell in a shop:)

Oooooooooohhhh, there is also a little jewelry box that Kindle scarfed up and I forgot to grab a pic of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, on to my livingroom! Yeah, Ive had the paint for months. It was all about trying to find the time to start and finish, or hopefully finish! Thank you to my AMAZING husband for all his help with this project. He HATES painting.
We started Sunday morning, the walls ended up taking 3 coats! I still have the moldings, upper and bottom to finish and the stencil. For some odd reason I picked the TWO hotest days of the summer to do this! WOW!!
Heres sort of a before/after shot...
Buh bye raspberry faux treatment!!!
The wall color is a simple cream and the trim is windsor green (the dark green on the door)
Workin on some make-overs!
Hey Guys!
Been about a week since I last posted!
Last Sat I spent close to 3 hours setting up my booth and pricing everything! My nerves finally got to me Saturday night and I was quite the sicky icky! I'm over the nervous bit and am just blown away by all of this!
I just started 9 months ago....remember? Back in Nov Jason's aunt traded me her sewing machine for Bella's bassinet and I was clueless! It didn't take me that long to catch on but what an improvement from then til now! Who woulda thought I would actually have my very own booth in a prim shop??!! Not me!
So Ive been working on swaps items for Janene, what a sweetpea she is!
You should see this BIG box of goodies she sent me! I almost died when I opened the box a little while ago! WOW!
Janene - you are AWESOME and I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything!!
Because you sent me so much, you have to wait another day before I can ship out your goodies:) I have to get to my booth to get some more prims for ya!!!!
I will be posting pics of my goodies from Janene as soon as my cam battery is charged! For some reason my one battery is not holding a charge and its pretty much brand new:( So I'm only working with one battery here! They are SO darn expensive!
Ive also been finishing up a few wooden items to take to my booth in hopes they will sell, although I'm not real sure what to price them at!
Ive got so many more wooden things to get painted and primmed and decided if I want to keep them or not!
Thank you ALL for your wonderful comments on my last post. They made my day all the more bearable!
Ill be back soon to post pics of my goodies from Janene:)
*NEW* Fall Prims
Justa real quick post to show what Ive been working on!
I was excepted to sell at Canal Country Artisans, in Medina NY and we take over the booth tomorrow. It was a juror process which I sweated bullets waiting to hear if I was excepted or not for 9 days! OMG - Im SO nervous!!! This is a really BIG primitive shop, ALOT of traffic in there! Im worried my prims arent good enough! I have "caftersnervousnessbutterfliesinmytummy" syndrome!
In any event, heres a few new things Ive got ready to go...
This is my very first round head with stitched on eyelids and painted eyes!
I think I did a pretty good job:)
Patterns courtesy, moonchilds primitives, blue moon beginnings and tennessee ridge primitives!
And this guy is my own pattern that I made up! He is HUGE!
Ive got a ton more in the works, just need to find a 48 hour day!
Wish me luck:)
